MOUNTAIN BIKING -Mountain biking is available at Innerleithen and Glentress. In recent years Innerleithen has become highly regarded throughout the world for its mountain bike trails. The UK Downhill Championships were held at Innerleithen in 2009 and the European Downhill Championships will be held at Innerleithen at the end of May 2010. The apartments are ideally placed for the 7stanes trails at Innerleithen (2 minutes walk) and Glentress (5 minutes drive). Tuition is available for all levels - see Links page for useful contacts.
WALKING - why not stay at one of our apartments while enjoying the delights of the Southern Upland Way or explore the abundance of walks (all levels) in the immediate area (Cardrona and Glentress Forests). Come to the Tweed Valley in September each year for the 8-day Tweed Valley Forest Walking Festival which includes walks for varying levels of ability and a wide range of social events.
FISHING -The River Tweed is only 2 minutes walk from the apartments and is a favourite not only with the fishing community but enthusiastic walkers and sightseers.
GOLFING -Innerleithen has its own 9-hole golf course with Cardrona (4 miles) and Peebles (6 miles) courses only a short drive away. Take advantage of the Scottish Borders Freedom of the Fairways between 1 April and 31 October and enjoy a round of golf for as little as £12. 3-day, 5-day, weekend and senior citizens passports available.
BIRD WATCHING - Kailzie Gardens on the outskirts of Peebles has the perfect view of the Ospreys which migrate to Kailzie each year. Walking along the River Tweed throughout the year, you can spot a wide range of wildlife along with colourful displays of snowdrops, bluebells, rhodedendrums and other amazing plant life.

ST RONANS WELLS - taste the reputed healing powers of St Ronans Wells spring water.
TRAQUAIR HOUSE - visit the spectacular Traquair House, the oldest inhabited ancestral home in Scotland. Enjoy beautiful scenic walks, get lost in their own maze and enjoy delicious home baking and freshly prepared meals at the Cottage Restaurant and visit the gift shop and brewery. Events throughout the year include traditional Easter Egg Hunt, Medieval Fayre and Traquair Fair and the very popular Mighty Deerstalker in March each year.

EASTGATE THEATRE - regular exhibitions of art and craft work along with theatrical presentations (drama, comedy, poetry) and film previews.
EATING OUT - a selection of menus from local restaurants and hotels will be provided within the apartments.
EATING IN - we can offer, at a small additional cost, welcome packs and produce from local suppliers. Please just ask us what you would like and we will endeavour to accommodate your request.
We can also offer meals specially prepared by the Sunflower Restaurant in Peebles which are delivered to your accommodation.
Home baking by Crumbs or packed lunches from I-dropoff are also available to order for delivery direct to your accommodation.
RETAIL THERAPY - Innerleithen has its own selection of independent retailers as well as a supermarket. Peebles (6 miles) is regarded as the best independent retailer in Scotland. Galashiels (11 miles) has independent and high street chain retailers such as Tesco, Asda, Next, Marks & Spencer. If you want to drive a little further, Edinburgh is only a 40 minute drive.
